We welcome the appointment of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After a year of political stalemate, this opens the way for renewed commitment of the political parties to allow for progress on the EU path of the country.

Relations between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina are at a defining moment following the endorsement of the Commission Opinion and its 14 key priorities in the areas of the rule of law, fundamental rights and public administration reform but also democracy by the EU Council. The coming 2020 will be an important year for Bosnia and Herzegovina with the holding of local elections, including in Mostar.

We stress the urgency of the engagement of the State level government needed to define, adopt and implement a new package of socio and economic reforms for the benefit of the country and its citizens. The work ahead requires the full commitment of legislative and executive authorities at all levels. The European Union is ready to fully support and accompany Bosnia and Herzegovina, its institutions and all its citizens in moving forward on the European integration path.
