The Commission disburses third payment to UNRWA

On 17^th October, the European Commission processed a payment of €16 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

This payment follows the first tranche of €50 million for UNRWA which was disbursed on 7^th March 2024 following the exchange of letters between the Commission and UNRWA and the second payment of €16 million on 31^st May, completing the disbursement of the €82 million allocated for the agency for 2024.

This third disbursement is in line with the agreed conditions between the Commission and UNRWA to enhance the neutrality processes and controls systems in the Agency.
