Following the ceasefire agreement in Minsk last week, and the steps towards constitutional change in Ukraine, the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will visit Kiev on Thursday to discuss support for implementation of the Minsk agreement, and Ukraine's continuing urgent need for internal reforms. Commissioner Hahn is scheduled to meet President Poroshenko, Prime Minster Yatseniuk, Chairman of Ukraine's national Parliament Groysman and Deputy Prime Minister Zubko, and to attend a meeting of the National Reform Council.

Ahead of the visit Commissioner Hahn said: "We expect all sides to respect the ceasefire, and withdraw heavy weapons within the deadline. The EU is also preparing to assist Ukraine in areas including decentralisation, economic recovery, tackling corruption, reforming the judiciary and the energy sector. These are pressing reforms. In particular, I want to discuss with leaders in Ukraine how we can sustain the economic development of Ukraine's regions, the reintegration of Internally Displaced Persons and the constitutional transition, as a contribution to implementing the Minsk agreement."
