Commissioner Johansson in Czechia to discuss the current situation of people fleeing the war in Ukraine and priorities of the upcoming Czech Presidency

Today, Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson will travel to Czechia to discuss the current situation of people fleeing the war in Ukraine, as well as the priorities of the upcoming Czech Presidency of the Council. The Commissioner will meet with the Minister of Interior, Vít Rakušan, representatives of the Czech Parliament and NGOs. Commissioner Johansson will discuss the implementation of the temporary protection directive for refugees fleeing the war and the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the Council, among which: the Pact on Migration and Asylum, progress in combating child sexual abuse, organised crime, corruption and drugs. Commissioner Johansson will also visit a refugee registration centre to assess the state of reception capacities.
