Commissioner Johansson travels to Berlin tomorrow

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, will be in Berlin tomorrow, where she will meet Nancy Faeser, Interior and Community Minister, Wolfgang Schmidt, Head of the Federal Chancellery and Minister for Special Tasks, and Anna Lührmann, Minister of State for Europe and Climate. Discussions will focus on fair and effective migration management in Europe, as proposed by the Commission in the new Pact on Migration and Asylum, and on partnerships with countries outside the EU. Further topics will include the situation in Belarus and Afghanistan. Finally, there will also be discussions on the proposed reform of the Schengen rules as well as on security issues such as fighting child sexual abuse and addressing violent extremism. Commissioner Johansson and Minister Faeser will hold a press conference around 12.45 CET tomorrow, which will be broadcast live here.
