The European Commission, on behalf of the EU, has today made disbursements under its macro-financial assistance programmes to Georgia, Jordan and Moldova. The disbursement of €100 million to Georgia and €250 million to Jordan are partly from the €3 billion emergency MFA package for ten enlargement and neighbourhood partners, which aims to help them limit the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, and partly from operations approved in April 2018 (for Georgia) and January 2020 (for Jordan). The disbursement of €50 million to Moldova comes entirely from the €3 billion emergency MFA package. The disbursements related to the emergency MFA programmes follow the agreement and ratification of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) over the past months. The disbursement of further tranches will be conditional on fulfilling the policy conditions laid down in these documents. The ongoing and swift implementation of the programmes is an important demonstration of the EU's solidarity with these countries at a time of unprecedented crisis.
