Brussels, 12 November. Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations met Mr Rasko Konjevic the Minister for Interior of Montenegro today in Brussels. Following the meeting Commissioner said:

'I was pleased to meet the Minister, an important interlocutor especially for rule of law issues, notably the fight against organised crime, as well as for public administration reform. I look forward to working with Montenegrin government to drive accession negotiations forward. It is now important that Montenegro focuses on addressing the gaps and shortcomings identified in the Progress Report, in particular in the area of fight against corruption. Immediate progress depends on tangible results in the coming weeks. Enlargement negotiations are very much a priority and this is why I am visiting the region early in my mandate, starting with Serbia and Montenegro next week.'
