High Representative Josep Borrell and Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi in Montenegro for the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Council

On 14 July, High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell, and Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi will be in Montenegro for the 11th EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Council. The meeting, chaired by the High Representative, will be an opportunity to review EU-Montenegro bilateral relations under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and discuss recent developments in Montenegro and in the Western Balkans. After the Council, High Representative Borrell, Prime Minister of Montenegro Abazović and Commissioner Várhelyi will hold a joint press conference at around 11:45 CEST, which will be live on EbS. In the afternoon, the High Representative will have an exchange with civil society representatives before meeting with President Milo Đukanović. On Friday 15 July, High Representative Borrell will continue his visit to Montenegro, where he will hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Krivokapić. The meeting will be followed by a press statement at around 9:30 CEST. Commissioner Várhelyi will be leaving Podgorica still on Thursday to continue in Albania. Together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, he will visit the ‘Vlora Bypass', an EU-funded project, and hold a press conference at around 19:30 CEST.
