High Representative/Vice-President Josep Borrell travels to Turkey and Malta

Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission is visiting Turkey today in the afternoon and will be travelling to Malta on Tuesday.

Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission is visiting Turkey today in the afternoon and will be travelling to Malta on Tuesday. In Ankara, Josep Borrell will hold talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Çavuşoğlu and with Minister of Defence Hulusi Akar to discuss the overall relations with Turkey, including - in particular - recent developments and tensions. The meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Çavuşoğlu will be followed by a press conference available on EbS. During his visit in Malta on 7-8 July, Josep Borrell will meet with President George Vella, Prime Minister Robert Abela, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Evarist Bartolo and with Minister for Home Affairs, National Security and Law Enforcement Byron Camilleri. Pressing international issues which are also affecting Malta are on the agenda. The meeting with Minister Evarist Bartolo will be followed by a press conference. On Wednesday, 8 July, Josep Borrell will visit the Malta Search and Rescue Coordination Centre. Pictures and videos of the two visits will be available on EbS.
