President von der Leyen at Session VIII of G7, 'Ukraine'

Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians themselves. But a just peace that does not reward the aggressor, who invaded in the middle of the night. A just peace that punishes those who have committed crimes of war. A just peace that respects Ukraine‘s legitimate rights, their sovereignty and territorial integrity. A just peace consistent with the principles of United Nations Charter.

This is why Ukraine is defending itself. And this is why we are helping Ukraine defend itself. And this is why we support President Zelensky's efforts in his Peace Formula. No peace can be negotiated without Ukraine. Over 140 nations have consistently voted to demand that Russia unconditionally withdraws all its military forces from the territory of Ukraine. Russia can and should end this war today.

The impact of Moscow's cruelty goes well beyond its border with disruptions to the global economy, from energy markets to food security.  We are working together to mitigate the impact of this war on developing and emerging countries.
