Evaluations of each of the EU External Financing Instruments have been launched in 2016 to provide information for the Mid-Term Review Report to be submitted to the European Parliament and the Council by the end of December 2017, as set out in Article 17 of the Common Implementing Regulation.
Independent evaluation studies are being undertaken by teams from a range of consulting companies. The studies will be completed in June 2017. More information on the Roadmaps setting out the objectives and process for these evaluations.
In parallel, the first preparatory steps for the future of those instruments (post-2020) are being launched.
In this framework, a consultation strategy has been developed covering the evaluation process as well as the process leading to proposal(s) for the EU external financing post-2020.
