Brussels, 19 June

Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, welcomes the outcome of the political leaders meeting held today in Skopje in the presence of EU and US Ambassadors. The four leaders have published the following statement:

‘We, leaders of main political parties, have today agreed to re-affirm our full commitment to the 2 June agreement and to continue discussion on its full implementation at leaders’ level on 29 June.

We also support the transparent handling by the EU of the text of this agreement, as well as of all the specific recommendations regarding systemic reforms in the area of rule of law to be implemented in the interest of all citizens.’
