On 30 October, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from EU and the Republic of Moldova started the second round of their annual school visits in the country. They will visit around 20 secondary education institutions in rural areas of Moldova.

The visits are jointly organised by the EU Delegation to Moldova, the country’s Education Ministry and the ‘EU NEIGHBOURS east’ project.

During the visits, teams of YEAs will engage in direct dialogue between young people on issues relevant to them, such as European values and culture, study and volunteering opportunities and best experiences.

Additionally, throughout the campaign, pupils from around 20 secondary education institutions will participate in a competition dedicated to the best civic action initiatives, focusing on improving lives in the communities they come from.

This activity shall give young people the chance to experience teamwork in a creative environment, and will culminate in a ceremony to reward the best initiatives.

The school visits will last until 17 November. They are part of the ‘Young European Neighbours’ network, an initiative to connect young people from the EU and its six Eastern Partners: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
